Complete Engines are tested on a Heenan Froude Dynamometer.

With Re-Calibration prior to every test.

Each engine is frame mounted &  then drive coupled to a Test Dynamometer, 

Coupled to temperature, boost pressure and oil gauges; and started at idle.

Progressively the Speeds and loadings are increased to ensure the correct bedding.

Performance measurements are recorded throughout the test.

With Exhaust smoke.readings taken at the penultimate part of the test.
